Raise Awareness
Raising awareness about the struggles of the immunocompromised is half the battle. The more people know about our struggles, the more likely they are to support people they know, and changes in school policies they know will help them. This includes filming our documentary, Invisible No More, which will shed light on the struggles that the immunocompromised and the autoimmune community often face in the workplace and the school system.
Improve Standards on College Campuses
Students in our Campus Ambassador Program, for now at a small number of schools in the DMV, work to be a voice for the immunocompromised and the autoimmune on their campus -- fighting to improve sanitation standards and accommodations through their Autoimmune Safety Report.
Run AutoAware, our K-12 program
AutoAware gives presentations at K-12 schools across the country in order to raise more awareness about autoimmune diseases, as well as the struggles that children with these invisible disabilities often face on a daily basis. The goal: making sure more of these children receive the help, care, accommodations, and compassion that they need to thrive and grow.
